Why's everything so behind?
There's only 1 of me, and my neurospicy brain doesn't always work as expected. I manage to phase shift my timelines on top of each other more than I'd like to admit. Chaos tends to also attach itself to me (for example, the next two weeks my building management has promised to rip up BOTH the rooms I use to produce SSP items so, in addition to convention delays from O&C, we're getting bonus disruptions from forces outside my control)
What are you doing to fix it?
In the long run I've returned to school to learn how to better communicate with manufacturers and build a network of contacts to help produce items (ideally domestically where possible). I know for a fact from the outpouring of appreciation and support I've received from all of you lovely folks that there is enough demand to send items to manufacturer, and, I really need to in order to mitigate my own stress levels.
For the immediate time being I've hired a part-time assistant. They are helping me get a handle on the mountain of ironing and cutting tasks involved in producing Ossuary Pop Shoppe. They're also helping to bridge the gap in my time and braincell through physically being in my space with me for body doubling, and making up for the lost production days from being in school 4 days a week. For the most part we've been working 2-3 days a week to get items out. (Lame, but I do need a rest day most weeks so I don't fully burn out again)
Rae-sewn items
Batgic Circle: Currently 6 months behind
ETA: End of Oct
I got overwhelmed by the changes in shipping for international orders and disassociated on shipping out the remaining completed orders. All BGC Vio orders are complete and ready to ship. One BGC Lavender, and One BGC Black order are still WIP. While at Oddities & Curiosities in Vancouver last week I made a contact who can help me navigate the parts of shipping to the states that had stalled shipping. Moreover, to my understanding, clothing items produced in Canada fall under current trade agreements, and should NOT be dinged by current sweeping US Tariffs. Also, Canada Post is off-strike again, so I can finally mail out items over $300 CAD in value once more.
Ossuary Pop Shoppe: Currently 12 weeks behind
Original ETA: Oct 1
Current ETA: Mid- December
Creating the layouts for printing this took a lot longer than I expected they would. We do have all the necessary fabrics in hand to complete the 29 (!) dresses that were ordered. We are currently WIP on bows/straps, and have fully finished prepping the ruffles. The expected order for production will be Black, Lavender, Yellow.
Monster Lace: Currently 12 weeks behind
Original ETA: Nov 1
Current ETA: Mid- Jan
We have the fabric for these boys in-hand. We may gain some time back as most of the pieces ordered for this series were skirts and buttcapes. The Neon Green does NOT glow under blacklight, but still appears neon green in daylight. All other colours with a magenta base DO glow under blacklight.
Cervine Dreams: Currently 12 weeks behind
Original ETA: Dec 1
Current ETA: Mid- Feb
The fabric for this is not in-hand. I will need to do layouts and order the fabric. I'm currently prioritizing the first two series, and hoping to bundle this fabric with the next release I'm planning to put out.
Die Chromaberry: Will be Available for preorder Nov 1-30th
Original ETA: April/May
I still have to pay my rent and my helper, so I will be offering up an existing print I've been asked for a few times, and haven't re-released yet. We'll start with the Black and Pink colourways. I'd like to say I will retool the lavender and red colourways, but, rather than spending time editing colourways that have not been very popular in the past, i'd rather focus on getting out other orders. If there is interest in either of those colours we'll look at them again later. This will be made of the same fabric as Cervine Dreams (Cotton-Hemp).
Manufacturer items:
Cicadamancy: Still in Limbo
I do have a sample from manu. We'd been working out the mystery colour discrepency between every other instance of Lavender Cicadamancy I've had printed, and their printer's version of Lavender Cicadamancy. I've heard this manu is ALSO having fulfillment issues of late, though, and have started looking into different options.
Pinnable Tummy Bat Bags: WIP on Spec Sheets
They're behind (surprising only me). The technical flats for spec packs have been completed. I got stalled on choosing colours. I know I will make great use of a classic/swassic colour scheme bat bag, but will enough of you want to own a swassic colour bat bag is the real question.
