Die Chromaberry for u

Die Chromaberry for u

Hello! another small post just to update about Die Chromaberry, and general house chaos.

In addition to everything I caught a cold over the weekend (yeeeey ~~) I'm back to 90% again, and did the DCB postings in time for our 7PM launch.

Miraculously I DO actually have access to my sewing space again. We're still likely not gonna hit full production again until Dec 13th. I'm in the last week of school with all those big assignments hitting hard. But! I am at least able to pick away at re-functioning the sewing room. My favourite is how the construction guys went out of their ways to get a huge amount of dust on all my stuff in the closet in that room, and how no one told me that needed to be either covered or cleared.

Construction is starting on my livingroom come Wednesday for an undetermined amount of time. In theory it's only for two weeks, but as we'd seen with the first bout that's more of a suggestion than a hard timeline. It's pretty likely half my house will be completely without heat til the new year. Which I am not especially chuffed about. But! workspaces are workspaces again. Gotta take the silver linings where they come.

I think I've got a workaround for shipping being nonsense for right now, and that is to bill after based on actual rates plus DDP (Pre-paid import tariffs).  The current tariff as of Dec 1st, 2025 is 35%, and insurance is generally $10 CAD on top of $25-35 shipping to the states. Canada Post won't give us quotes without the Zonos app, and Zonos won't work unless I spend twice as much per month on my shopify membership (probably? I can't actually afford to test it out this month since my shopify account is billed yearly).

That being said, I suggest taking those rates into mind, calculate your estimated DDP, and chose the "free" shipping option for JSKs and Skirts right now. There may be a way for me to avoid charging folks DDP. I'm still looking into it. Without DDP shipping is generally $35-45 CAD with insurance.

I've also enable Purolator as an option. Their rates may be completely unhinged.
